| To emphasize that a new Compaq Computer tape storage system can hold immense amounts of data, we were asked to create a cityscape of "towers of data". Starting with a stock image supplied by the client, we cloned several of the buildings and cylindrical towers to create the skyline. Using our own image warping technique as well as 3D software, we mapped images of stock quotes, schematic diagrams, maps, computer printouts and other documents onto the surfaces of the buildings and towers. We darkened the original sky, added stars and blended the tops of the buildings to make them disappear into the cosmos. |
